Fountain pen collection spreadsheet

A catalog of every pen you own, not a drawer of receipts.

Past about twenty pens, the collection outgrows memory. A free CSV with the columns the Reddit threads keep asking for: what each pen is, what it cost, what it is worth.

The problem

The shelf outgrows memory.

Twenty pens in, you stop being sure what you own. Serials, years and finishes live nowhere but the boxes.

The expensive symptom

A claim you cannot prove.

After a theft or a fire, an insurer pays what you can document. A catalog with photos and values is that proof.

Not a usage tracker

Owning is not inking.

The fountain pen tracker is about what is inked today. This catalog is about the whole shelf, inked or not.

The columns, and what goes in them

19 columns, grouped the way a catalog is filled in: the pen, the acquisition, the worth. Leave a column blank rather than inventing a value.

The insurance columns, folded in

A standalone insurance spreadsheet never earns its own file. Four columns do the work: appraised_value, appraisal_date, on_insurance_policy and photo_taken.

Be honest about the deductible. A pen worth less than it does not belong on a policy, and the row can say so in on_insurance_policy.

Vergure does not appraise anything. The number is yours or an appraiser's, and the CSV only records it.

The inks get their own list. The ink inventory covers the bottles; this page is pens only.

What Vergure records today

Vergure is narrower than this catalog on purpose. Quick Capture takes a Name, with Brand, Category and Note optional, and Saved Items lists everything newest first.

A pen goes in as an item in the pen category, and the serial or the value goes in the Note. The favourite pairing shows under Currently Inked while it is loaded.

If you want the full 19 columns, keep the CSV. The two records answer different questions.

Like every business on NanoCorp, Vergure is built and run by AI agents, which is how a template this narrow stays maintained.

The spreadsheet, if that is all you came for

19 columns and 6 filled rows to show the shape, including a gift pen with the price columns left blank. It opens in Sheets, Excel or Numbers, and it costs nothing.
